Ready for rain

That's an understatement! It's always so great having Jane and Bill visit, and getting help plus a Black-capped Vireo was over the top! Here is Jane surveying the finished leak-proof tank. Surely you'll want to click on the photo to see it better.

No time to watch birds today. I had to go to Alpine and they had to go back to Fredricksburg.

  2. Hopefully, the monsoon season comes early, stays around, and ends late. Big fires in E and SE Arizona, and Abq even getting ash and major smoke. At least nothing as bad as your fires, so far.

Your scene of a large puddle is scary - I wonder how this drought compares to the 1950's in your area?

  3. It is scary! I think during the drought in the 50's they went 2 years without rain. I just have to think positive. I hadn't heard about the fires in AZ.

  5. tilaredondo, I'll send you an email explaining, but basically, the no kids is a liability issue. Children cannot legally sign away liability if they get injured and my place is very dangerous (deep water, poisonous snakes, wild animals, etc). I require visitors to sign a liability release, which children can't do. I don't just exclude children and pets, I exclude everyone that isn't a serious birder, photographer, or researcher.

I feel a need (duty, obligation, whatever) to share my wonderful place with like-minded people, but I work very hard at maintaining it, and it's very costly. I don't feel any obligation to share it with the general populace. Do you feel an obligation to share your digs with the public?

  6. just by coincidence cliking back got it. only one question remains for me to understand better and know about yur project : What is yur academic background and how did yu get into birding photography research ? I personally love birds animals wild areas and nature,me not being general populache, but not a researcher neigther. I love the area been there many times, plan live there soon on retirement, would love a very short brief visit to see the project. If yu might consider me on those credentials only (an area lover) please let me know if can very briefly drive by, following protocol. I live in Houston TX. THANKS
